Mr. Rowan
Hello!
Here is the weekly update for our social studies class. We will begin our Biography Bottle Project this week. I have broken these up into smaller steps to focus on. I hope this helps; one step at a time, one day at a time. The Biography research will be done both at home and at school. The bottle project will be done at home. I have instruction videos I will be posting to lessons for each part of the Bottle project. If at any time you have questions or need anything, I will respond by week's end.
Speaking of next week, I wanted to pass along that I will be out next week from Tuesday - Friday for a couple of eye surgeries that I need to have. Ms. Ross, who is an employee at Westgate, and who subs for other teachers in the building, will be teaching my classes on Tuesday -Thursday. I have been working with her on the new schedule, technology and making sure she is comfortable with my plans. She will also be shadowing me on Monday to meet the students and see the routine first hand. I did let students know this week, but wanted to pass along the message to everyone.
Sincerely,
Mr. Rowan
Hello Historians!

Hello Historians!
We finished up a deep dive into why Texas revolted against the Mexican government and realized that American grows and moves west, slavery is moving with it. We also found the strong feelings of independence and self-governance that runs so deeply in the American ideal.
This week we hit the trail...the Oregon Trail and see what awaited travelers as they went West to the Oregon Territory; the destination signaled decades earlier by Lewis and Clark.
I hope everyone has a Safe and Happy Holiday Season!
Cheers!
Mr. Rowan
