PE K1 Week 6- 9/28-9/30

Great job last week everyone! I hope everyone had a wonderful time with Ms. Jasmine on Wednesday and enjoyed playing Move Like A.. Monday we will be getting together to do some tossing/rolling challenges. You will need your ball for the Monday’s class. On Tuesday, I would like everyone to practice their jump rope skills and play outside. On Wednesday, we will be starting our hand eye coordination challenges. You will need your ball and/or a plastic grocery bag. I will be leading you all through some tossing and catching challenges as we try to develop the ability of our hands and eyes to work together.

PE HamMatt Week 5- 9/21-9/25

It was so nice to see most everyone last week. This week we will be jumping into our hand eye coordination challenges. Hand eye coordination is being able to get your hands and eyes to work together. This is important for things like sports, school (reading and writing), and also video games 😉We will be going through different hand eye coordination challenges working to catch different objects. We will be using some plastic grocery bags and the little squishy ball that was sent home in your PE equipment packs. On Tuesday, I would like you to continue to work through the challenges. On Wednesday, we will be walking with a purpose and doing a little scavenger hunt around the house. WALKING ONLY! Thursday, I would like you all to get outside to play catch with someone. You will be working to catch the ball before it bounces/touches the ground.

PE Week 4- 9/14-9/18

Looking forward to seeing everyone in person this week!

Stay active and keep practicing your jump rope skills!

PE K1-9.8-9.11

Great job this last week everyone! It was so much fun jumping rope and being active together as a class!
This week we will continue with our warm up and stretching routines. For Tuesday, I need you guys to keep practicing your jump rope skills. On Wednesday, we will be getting together and playing some Unlock My Iphone to get our feet and eyes working together. After a few rounds of unlock my iphone, we will continue to work on controlling our bodies as we move through space and we will be playing Move Like A...For Thursday, I need you guys to be active for 60minutes! Go for a walk, play some catch, ride your bike, run around the block! Be Active!

K-1 HamMatt Week 2- 8/31-9/4

Great Job last week everyone! I really enjoyed seeing everyone and doing some physical activity together. I hope you guys enjoyed your weekends and continued to be active!

This week we are going to start out with some Hop, Skip, Jump, Slide relays(make sure you have a little space to run back and forth). Then we will start learning how to jump rope. It is going to be hard at first but follow along with me step by step and keep practicing, it will get easier! On Wednesday, we will be doing another little workout and then practicing our jump rope skills. I will show you some jump rope games to play at home.

Looking forward to another great week! Stay active and stay healthy!

For this grade level, we will be posting feedback on [Seesaw/In Class] regarding skills and learning. Your student will receive one final grade at the end of the quarter in IC, and until then, I will be engaging through live sessions and lots of individual feedback!

Zoom Links/Password Not Working

I am sorry to everyone who was not able to join us in class today because the zoom link/password was not working. It seems that people who tried using the link on my staff page, were not able to get in. However, people that accessed the link from SEESAW were able to get in. I am going to get this figured out and next week you should be able to join from the staff page link and definitely from the link in SEESAW. The password to join our zoom class will never change, however I cannot put the password on this webpage post. Please see the Seesaw announcements for our PE Zoom Link Password.

Welcome to Westgate PE! I am your Physical Education teacher Mr. Wise and I am very excited to see everyone in class this week. At Orientation last week, you should have picked up your materials bag for the quarter. In this bag you will find a stack of ten paper plates, a jump rope, and a soft ball. These three items are the materials we will be using throughout the rotation, please make sure they are close by when you come to class.

This week we will be learning our daily stretching routine and how to stretch some of the different muscles in your body. Circle-We will be talking about our favorite ways to stay active and why it is important to be active every day! Move Like A..We will also be learning how to control our bodies and make them do all the things we need them to do. Paper Plate Relay- We will be focusing on the key words Hop, Skip, Jump, and Gallop. We will be doing activities that challenge us to use these new words and do the actions.

Activities:-stretching routine-“circle”-Move like A…-Paper Plate Relay

You need: paper plates, two plastic grocery bags(most likely for next week), to be active for 60mins a day, and a positive attitude.

HW: Practice Hop, Skip, Jump, Gallop! Seesaw- Meatball Run!

Welcome Back!

Welcome back Westgate PE students. I am very excited to see everyone this year, I feel like it has been FOREVER! While we will not be seeing each other in person, we will still be getting together online and putting in some work.

I wanted to make sure that everyone knows to check out YOUR class page posts for weekly updates/assignments. I will also be using TEAMS and FLIPGRID. I made a little intro video for Flipgrid/Team and it will be posted onto your Teams feed along with a 5-8 grading policy.

During orientation, you will be getting some PE equipment to use at home. Please make sure you take good care of these items(ball, jump rope, paper plates) and have them around when you come into class, as we will be using them throughout the rotation.

Looking forward to seeing everyone during our first class meeting 8/24!
