Great work this past week on the Enlightenment Thinkers and the Roots of American Democracy! We will finish up your presentations on Monday and then briefly discuss this week the European influences for Constitutional Law. Hello good citizens!

Last week we finished up our little unit on citizenship with an essay assignment that utilizes the virtues, attributes, and responsibilities of a good citizen that we discussed in class. I can't wait to read all of your essays and see what you had to say. This week are taking a look at the Roots of American Democracy and analyzing the Enlightenment Thinkers that influenced the founding fathers as they were creating our government. It was amazing meeting and getting to know you all last week! Last week we talked about what the attributes of a "good" citizen are and I loved hearing what you all had to say about that. We also analyzed a primary source by Benjamin Franklin on virtue and made a list of what being a good citizen is. This week we will talk more about the responsibilities of good citizenship and take a look at Civil Disobedience by Henry David Thoreau.
