We wanted to keep everyone updated on this week’s Distance Learning agenda. ​

​Starting Monday, students will be able to view and access Assessments and Assignments in their MobyMax account. We will be having advocacy using the Zoom platform. Meeting times and passwords are below. ​

​By Friday, we hope to see students complete the Math, Reading Skills, and Language Placement Assessments. Along with this, students will have assignments for Science and Social Studies in their MobyMax Assignments Tab.  ​

​If parents and/or students have questions or need assistance with MobyMax or, in general, Distance Learning, they can attend any of the teachers’ Office Hours Additionally, they can send an email to the Advocacy Teacher.

Conference Sign Ups

Hello Westgate Families!

3rd Quarter Conferences are coming up shortly. Sign-ups are on a first come, first served basis and are in 20 minute slots. Conferences this quarter will be held on Monday, March 16th 4-7pm, Tuesday, March 17th 4-7pm, and Friday, March 20 8am- 8pm.

Please sign up with your name as well as your student’s name.

You can also sign up for a 15 minute conference with the specials teachers separately from your other conference.

Sign up will close at 4pm on March 13th.

Holiday Party Info

Hello Parent(s) and/or Guardian(s)!

 

Please see the attached link to access the Sign-Up Genius for our Pod Holiday Party. We appreciate any assistance that you are able to provide so that the students may enjoy some much needed time as a Pod as we end the Quarter and head out for our nice, long winter break!

Holiday Shop

The Westgate Holiday Shop is this week Dec 9-13! Kids will be able to shop during their lunch and after school from 3:30 to 4:30. An informational packet was included in the Friday folders last week. The packet should have included an envelope in which you can send cash or use the new voucher system if you'd like to pay by credit card. Only kids with vouchers or cash will be allowed to shop. If using vouchers please be sure to write down the authorization code as well as the dollar amount (minus fees).

MAP Testing Schedule

We will be MAP testing the week we return from Thanksgiving Break!  Please discuss with your child how important it is to give your best effort, read carefully, and get a good night's sleep the night before!  Students are working on setting goals for each test as well. 

 

Monday, December 5th: Reading

Wednesday, December 9th: Math

Friday, December 10th: Language Usage

 

Drums Around the World Field Trip

Due to some unforeseen issues, the field trip on December 3rd has been moved to January 28th. New permission slips will be sent out in January, when we return from Winter Break. If you have any questions, please let me know.

Hello 7/8 Families,
 
On Friday, November 8th, 2019, the 7th and 8th graders will have their first dance. This even is from 6:30-9 pm. Doors close at 7:00 pm. Admission is $2.00 or food to share with the other students. All food must be store bought and in their original packaging.
