Start by checking your assignment list in Moby Max, and this week we have added a writing prompt under the Writing Assignments icon.
If you don't see assignments showing up on your list in Moby Max, please let me know! You can also just select any Reading, Language, or Writing Icon in your library for automatic, leveled assignments.
I would always encourage you to read books at home and do some writing of your choice.
Week of April 13, 2020
Students should be spending 30-60 minutes daily on reading, and another 30-60 minutes on writing/language.
This week in Moby Max, check your assignment tab for individualized reading and language assignments.
If you don't see any, please let me know right away so I can get them up in the right place for you.
Week of April 6, 2020
Math/LA Assignments for this week in Moby Max:
- Complete placement tests: Math, Language, and Reading Level (See video link to walk through where to find these)
- Spend 30-45 minutes, per subject, each day (after completing the placement tests) working on skills provided by Moby Max based on your placement
Extension Suggestions:
- Spend 30 minutes daily reading a book of your choice
- Write daily! Try keeping a traditional diary/journal to record your feelings and daily activities
- Play strategies games and/or games that involve math skills
Week of Mar. 16 and Extended Break
Students who have not finished reading for their book groups need to do so over break.
Many students submitted incomplete rough drafts of their narratives and need to complete those over break as well.
New assignments for the days off are posted with instructions above.

I am no longer accepting make up work.
Students with excused absences last week have until WEDNESDAY, Mar. 11 to make up work assigned from Mar. 2-6.
Week of Mar. 2, 2020
ALL MAKEUP WORK FOR QUARTER THREE IS DUE FRIDAY, MARCH 6.
Students absent this week will still have until next Wednesday to makeup assignments from those days.

Narrative writing - including theme, symbolism, sentence variety, dialogue and descriptive language
Reading
Choice book groups (realistic or historical fiction)

- Set calendar with group
- Begin reading & marking evidence with sticky notes
Special Event
Thursday afternoon students will be displaying their mystery projects from last semester in a gallery for peers in 5-8 grade
Week of Feb. 10, 2020
This week students will:
- Finish analyzing Tangled
- Work on adding symbolism and theme to their own narrative writing
- Choose novels to read
Week of Feb. 3, 2020
Students voted on watching Disney's Tangled. Please complete the following form to give your child permission to watch the movie with the class.
Following our viewing, students will participate in various written and discussion based activities to analyze elements of the movie.
