Algebra II/Geometry (10)

Course Description

Posts

Week 10/15 - 10/19

Algebra 2: This week, students presented their projects on systems of equations. They also began learning about quadratics (parabolas) and how they are used in the world.

Geometry: Students reviewed and practiced factoring with quadratic functions, changing problems from standard form to intercept form.

Week 9/17 - 9/21

In Algebra 2, students practiced the substitution method in systems of equations, both with equations and with word problems. They are preparing to create their own system of equations word problems.

In Geometry, students worked to find the coordinates of trash cans near rides in an amusement park. They also found the shortest distances from points to lines.

Week 9/10 - 9/14

In Algebra 2, we practiced solving compound inequalities as well as absolute value inequalities. We ended the week with a quiz.

In Geometry, we learned how to find the circumcenters of triangles, also ending the week with a quiz.

Week 9/4 - 9/7

In Algebra 2, we began practicing solving compound inequalities.

In Geometry, we practiced finding midpoints and distances on line segments between two points.

Week 8/27 - 8/31

In Algebra 2, we practiced with absolute values and continued learning about equations using inequalities.

In Geometry, students practiced their practical skills by finding the volume of a table and the surface area of a podium. They also solved a real-life scenario involving building fencing for a herd of sheep. We finished learning about perpendicular slopes through specific grid points.

Week 8/20 - 8/24

In Algebra II, we practiced equations involving absolute values.

In Geometry, we practiced finding the slope of a perpendicular line when given an equation in slope-intercept form.
