Course Description

In 7th grade, we build on students' knowledge gained in 6th grade, continuing to focus on history, geography, civics, and economics, and move into the Eastern Hemisphere. Topics covered range from the origins of civilizations in Mesopotamia and China, to the great empires of Egypt and Greece. We will investigate modern finances and how to be prepared for the future.
 
We meet every day at the following time: 2:15 pm - 3:15 pm

  • Explore the role of religion in Ancient Egypt as well as the Egyptian creation story and several of the gods and goddesses worshiped by the Ancient Egyptians.
  • Look at the arts and achievements of Ancient Egypt to understand why these achievements are significant to understanding Ancient Egyptian civilization as well as make connections to our own civilization.
  • The student's at home project is due on Tuesday, January 22nd.
