Week of February 4th

This week, students will continue working on their PowerPoint presentation about suffragists.  We will begin presenting them in front of the class at the end of the week. 

Week of January 28th

This week, we will continue to learn about women's suffrage and Colorado's role in the 1800's.  Students will also choose a famous suffragist to research.  They will begin PowerPoint presentations on their chosen suffragist.  These will eventually be presented in small groups. 

Week of January 22nd

This week, we will learn about the Colorado Constitution and Colorado becoming a state.  We will also start learning about Women's Suffrage and the role that Colorado played in voting throughout the US.

Week of January 14th

This week, we will begin learning about Colorado becoming a United States Territory and how Colorado eventually became a state. 

Week of 12/17

This week, students will do a short poster/picture based on one of the early Colorado settlers.  They will choose which group they would like to do, and draw labels to explain things such as their clothing, tools, and other things those settlers might have had with them. 

Week of 12/10

This week, we will continue to learn about aspects of US history that aided in Colorado becoming a state, such as the Gold Rush. Due to MAP testing, our assessment has been moved to Thursday, 12/13.  On Friday, we will be joined by special guests from History Colorado!

Week of 12/3

This week, we will learn about aspects of US history that aided in Colorado becoming a state.  These include: The fur trappers, Bent's Fort, & other early settlers. We will have an assessment on Monday, 12/10.

Week of November 26th

This week, we will learn about aspects of US history that aided in Colorado becoming a state.  These include: The Mexican-American War, fur trappers, Bent's Fort, & other early settlers.

Week of 11/13

This week, we will learn about aspects of US history that aided in Colorado becoming a state.  These include: fur trappers, Bent's Fort, The Lousiana Purchase, and Lewis & Clark.

Week of November 5th

This week, we will be learning about the Ute tribe and their role in Colorado.  We will have a quiz later in the week about the Anasazi & the Ute tribes. We will then begin learning about European explorers and the role they played in Colorado.

Week of 10/29

This week, we will finish constructing Mesa Verde models and begin learning about the Ute Tribe.  

Week of 10/22

This week, we will investigate the how the Ancient Pueblo People (Anasazi) lived and their relevance to Colorado history.  

Week of 10/15

This week, we will begin learning about Native American tribes of Colorado.  Our main focus will be on the Ancient Pueblo People and Ute.  

Week of 9/17

This week, we will finish up our Colorado animal projects & presentations.  We will then begin map skills.

Week of 9/4

This week, students will finish up their animal research and begin making presentations on their computers.
