🌎 Social Studies: Geography

This month, we are becoming geographers! Students will learn how to study and describe places in the United States and around the world.

We will learn about:

• 🏔️ Physical Features – natural parts of Earth, such as mountains, rivers, deserts, and oceans.
• 🏙️ Human Features – things people build or change, such as roads, bridges, cities, and dams.
• 🗺️ Different Types of Maps – students will learn how to use physical maps and political maps and understand what each map shows.
• 🇺🇸 Regions of the United States – students will explore different regions of the country and learn what makes each region unique.
• 📍 Landmarks – students will discover important natural and human-made landmarks in different parts of the United States.
• 🔎 Thinking Like a Geographer – students will look closely at maps, pictures, and information to make observations and ask questions.

How does geography help us understand different places and the people who live there?

Students will spend the month looking at maps, exploring pictures, working with classmates, doing short research, and sharing what they discover.
