Week of 10/5/26

Hello 8th Grade Families!

This week in 8th grade math, we're going to continue deriving the equation y=mx+b, then we'll be using it to graph linear equations! Homework will be assigned in class on Monday, and will be due at the beginning of class on Wednesday, 10/7, due to an alternate schedule on Thursday. The homework will be one page, front and back - a total of 7 questions.

As a reminder, Thursday is a half-day, so students will be done by 11:30am :) Conferences will begin Thursday afternoon at 1pm and run until 5pm (virtually). If you signed up for an in-person conference, then I will see you on Friday somewhere between 8am-6pm!

I hope you have a great week, and please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions!

Students will be given the entire class period to complete their test. A study guide will be sent home in addition to the homework packet: this is optional, but highly encouraged. If the study guide is completed, students can earn up to 5 points of extra credit on their test!

On Friday, we will begin "Unit 3 - Linear Relationships" with Proportional Relationships & Slope.

Quiz #2 corrections are due by Wednesday, 9/23 for half-credit back. I highly encourage students to utilize this opportunity if they scored less than an 80%!!
