📚 What We’re Learning This Month!

🌟 Advocacy: PBIS — RISE!

This month in Advocacy, we will be focusing on our school’s PBIS RISE expectations! Students will spend time learning what each of these important character traits means and, most importantly, what they look and sound like in real life.

R — Respect & Resilience
Respect means treating ourselves, others, and our school with kindness and consideration.
Resilience means being able to keep going when things are difficult, learning from challenges, and trying again even when something does not work the first time.

I — Integrity
Doing the right thing, even when no one is watching.

S — Safety
Making choices that help keep ourselves and others physically and emotionally safe.

E — Empathy
Thinking about how others may feel and showing kindness and understanding.

Each week, students will focus on one of these words. We will talk, participate in activities, and work together to identify examples of what each trait looks like at school, at home, and in our community.

🏠 How can families help?

Try asking your child questions such as:

  • “What did respect look like in your classroom today?”
  • “Can you tell me about a time you showed resilience when something was difficult?”
  • “What did you do when you wanted to give up but kept trying?”
  • “Can you tell me about a time you showed integrity?”
  • “What is one choice you can make to help others feel safe?”
  • “How can we show empathy when someone is having a hard day?”

Our goal is for students to understand that these are more than words on a poster—they are skills and choices we can practice every day!
