Science updates 11/11

Science:

This week, we are wrapping up our exciting unit in science focused on the Solar System! Understanding our place in space is foundational, and we will begin by observing and analyzing patterns right here on Earth. Specifically, we will be looking at patterns in the sky and how they change over time.

A hands-on part of this learning will involve observing how our shadow moves throughout the day. This simple yet powerful activity helps students visualize the apparent movement of the sun and lays the groundwork for understanding the rotation of the Earth. Please encourage your student to talk about any changes they notice in the sky or with their own shadow when they are outside.

Science updates 10/27

This week, we will be exploring the exciting topics of the Moon, its phases, and the wonders of space and the planets! The children will learn about how the Moon changes shape throughout the month, and we’ll dive into fun facts about our solar system.
Just like last week, we’ll be doing a hands-on experiment to help bring these concepts to life. The students had a blast learning in such a meaningful way, and we can’t wait for them to experience more exciting activities this week!
We’re looking forward to an out-of-this-world week of learning!

Koenig's Science updates 9/8/25

In Science, we will be learning about sound and vibration. This is an important topic because sound is part of our everyday lives, and students will explore how sounds are made and how they travel.

At the end of this week, we will also have our unit test on light and sound to review everything we’ve learned so far.

Thank you for supporting your child’s learning at home!

Koenig's Science updates 9/2

In Science, we will continue our unit on Light! Students will be learning about different types of light, including natural light (like the sun) and artificial light (like lamps and flashlights). We will also explore how light interacts with objects, focusing on transparent, translucent, and opaque materials.

This unit will help students observe the world around them in new ways and make real-life connections to how light is part of our daily lives.
