Welcome to Sixth grade Social Studies.  The curriculum is broken into four key standards: Geography, History, Economics and Civics. 

 

We will focus on Geography to start this week by learning the two types of geography: physical and human geography.  Then we will dive into the five themes of geography and practice these themes by reading and annotating the text with group discussions. 

 

The format for my class is to get the information to the students through notes and vocabulary, practice the concepts through reading and application, and then complete their understanding through projects.
