5/12 - 5/16
Good Morning!
Happy Monday. I hope you all enjoyed your weekend!
What's on the Docket for this week?
2nd Grade - This week, students start their clay project, using clay to create a turtle. They will use a pinch pot technique to create the shell and slab methods to create the fins and other details.
3rd/4th—This week, we are finalizing our self-portraits, where students will be given a photograph of half of their face, and they will have to draw and shade the other half to complete the full image. Students will be learning proportion, scale, value, and gradation.
5th/6th—This week, we are finalizing our self-portrait painting project inspired by the work of Pop Artist Roy Lichenstein. Students will be working in reverse, starting with the details and ending with the full-color backgrounds. Students will be working in a color scheme, painting on transparent paper to achieve the desired effect.
7th/8th - This week, students are finalizing their Intro to Digital Photography unit, by thinking about composition instead of just taking candid photographs. We are utilizing the photo triad (ISO, Aperture, and Shutter Speed) and how each choice an artist makes within the triad affects the outcome of the photograph.
