Course Description

Introduction to journalism will give students an introduction to several journalism related topics including: News writing style, editing, examining media, news writing style, desktop publishing, opinion writing, broadcasting, and media in the digital age.

  We will discuss and practice news writing, editing, and media all throughout the semester. We will have several short units with a project assigned for each: Desktop publishing, opinions and ethics, digital media. We will have a final culminating project for students to report about things that are happening in our community using the tools gained throughout the semester.
