Welcome to iLab

I'm excited to share with you all my passion for design.

We will be studying many areas of design including videography, 3D modeling, robotics, animation, product and web design.

Getting ready for week 3...

We are creating all of our concept boards to be ready to start building.
 
Please bring in any supplies you will want for your builds including small sized cardboard boxes like cereal boxes, kleenex boxes, etc.
 
It'll be a fun creative challenging week ahead!

Week 1 in iLab

This week I will be assessing each students skills. They will design a dream treehouse. We will use our creativity in being innovative, thinking of any and all possibilities.  I will also introduce what iLab is about for the quarter and the design thinking process.
 
Ask your kid(s) what treehouse did they design? What was the innovation they added? How do they enter their treehouse? etc.
 
They will also practice presenting their treehouse at the end of the week as an explanation of their concept board or as a commercial. Its a fun way to learn how to start to sell your designs and learn how to be comfortable sharing ideas.
 
I'm excited to see all of their creations!

Upcoming week to end our quarter projects

Time to  finish our projects by end of next week for grading.
 
We will also work on marketing/branding. We will create a personal logo and portfolio.
 
Presentations will be the following week with a self assessment.
 
I am so proud of all of you...you all have been working so hard. I've truly enjoyed our quarter thus far.

Time to video edit. We will be using WeVideo to edit all of the text, images and videos we have been creating to make a video for our cause.
 
Bring computers. I hope you enjoy this week.

Daily design challenges = 5 min.
 
Beginning quarter assessment.
Concept boards for our cause. 7-8 chooses their own cause. K-6 structural design for the environment and innovation.
Graphic text used as a title screen.
3D Builds of their structures to be used in video editing and animating.
Storyboards. Learning sequence of events for beginning, middle, end.
Flipbooks
Photography/videography to support their marketing materials.
Animation. Stop action.

7-8 
Welcome to iLab. Thank you for choosing this class as your elective this quarter. I am looking forward to all of our innovations!
 
K-6
This week we introduce our design problem statement and start the innovation process with concept boards!
