Social Studies Week of January 17th

This week, kindergarteners will learn about Martin Luther King Jr. and discuss how he changed the world through conversation and activities. 

Science Week of January 9th

To start the week off, we will define a New Year's Resolution and then create a vision board to showcase our resolutions. 
 
Following this fun activity, we will be switching gears and comparing and contrasting snails to other animals. In addition to this, we will identify why they are important to the Earth. 

Science Week of November 28th

This week in science, kindergarteners will be exploring the 5 senses and identifying how their senses help them. 
 
On Friday, we will be doing an activity with popcorn! There will be an email sent out on Monday, but please let me know if your student should not have popcorn. 

Social Studies Week of November 14th

For this week in Social Studies, we will explore what we are grateful for in and outside of the classroom. In addition to this, we will be learning about the first Thanksgiving and the lives of pilgrims and Native Americans. At the end of the week, we will be celebrating what we are thankful for with a kindergarten feast! 

Social Studies Week of October 31st

In social studies we will be performing a play! Students will remember lines and create props. This will help build oral and listening skills, while building a community!

Social Studies Week of October 17th

We are kicking our social studies and science block a little differently! We will have one week of social studies followed by one week of science. In social studies, we will be exploring what humans need to survive and how the needs (clothing, food, shelter) change for different environments. In science, we will be discussing what plants need to survive and observe plant seedlings in our classroom. 

Science Week of September 26th

This week in science, we will be exploring our solar system by identifying constellations and planets.

Science Week of September 19th

We will begin another unit of science! In this unit we will explore weather patterns, severe weather, and preparation for severe weather. 

Social studies Week of September 12th

In social studies, we will be identifying the characteristics of the four seasons and exploring how those seasons differ throughout the world! 

Social Studies Week of September 6th

This week in Social Studies we will be learning about maps and globes. We will be going over different parts of a map and why they are important. 

Science Week of August 22nd

This will be our first week of science in quarter one! We will begin by exploring how germs affect our bodies and end the week by learning how we can stay healthy! 

Social Studies Week of August 15th

This week in Social Studies we will be learning about Community Helpers. On Wednesday students are able to dress up as what they want to be when they grow up. This can be something student put together at home. It does not have to be a bought costume. 
 
We will also be meeting the animals at the barn on Tuesday. If you do not want your student to interact with the goats please let me know. 

Social Studies Week of August 8th

This week in social studies we will be learning about Rules and Laws. We will also be learning about school leaders and why they are important.
