6th Grade Art Class Q2 - Cundari’s Advocacy

Course Description

6th Grade art class includes lessons and instruction during class as well as outside work on projects. Students will be learning aspects of art history and create work inspired by it (Example: Pop Art Character). They will be learning about the elements of art and principles of design and incorporating them into artwork (Example: Aquarium Perspective). I also believe in freedom of artistic expression so there will be projects in which are meant for self-expression, giving the students full control of their creative ideas. (Example: Various Crafts) There will also be instruction on different mediums and learning to use them.

We meet on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s from 1:00 – 1:30 pm.

Monday:

We will be creating a present folded surprise!

Week of 12/7/20 - 12/11/20

Monday:

Finish steps 1-5 on the self-portrait that we did on Thursday if you haven’t already.

Tuesday:

We are going to finish drawing our self-portrait.

Wednesday:

Finish drawing out your self-portrait if you haven’t done so already.

Any back work is due today to receive any credit.

Thursday:

We are going to start to color our self-portrait.

Week of 11/30/20 - 12/4/20

Monday:

No work to be done today.

Tuesday:

We will be finishing up our pop art character.

Wednesday:

Finish your pop art character and submit into Teams by Friday, if I haven’t marked yours done yet.

Thursday:

We are going to start our self-portrait. We will be drawing out our grid and the face shape.

Week of 11/16/20 - 11/20/20

Monday:

Finish any leftover steps you may not have done from Thursday’s class.

Tuesday:

We will continue working on our pop art character project. We will be drawing out our character and starting to plan the background design.

Wednesday:

Finish any steps you did not complete on Tuesday.

Thursday:

We will work on our pop art character project. We will start to color and draw out our background design.

Week of 11/9/20 - 11/13/20

Monday:

Finish any steps you may have missed on your island from Thursday.

Tuesday:

We will be finishing up our island project.

Wednesday:

NO SCHOOL – NO WORK TO BE DONE

Thursday:

We will be learning about pop art, specifically through Peter Max and Howie Green. We will then be starting our pop art character project.

Week of 11/2/20 - 11/6/20

Monday:

Make sure you have your outline and key done on your island project. We will continue working on this tomorrow.

 

Tuesday:

We will start to add our symbols to our island and figuring out where and what the landmarks will be.

Supplies you will need:

A piece of drawing paper, or computer paper or lined paper

Pencil

Eraser

Ruler

 

Wednesday:

Finish any steps you did not complete from Tuesday.

 

Thursday:

We will be starting to finish up our island by coloring in the island and symbols.

Friday:

Finish any steps you did not complete from Thursday.

Monday:

We will be starting our island project tomorrow so no need to complete anything today.

Tuesday:

We are starting our island project. The students will be drawing out the outline of their island and creating a key.

Wednesday:

Finish any steps you didn’t complete from Tuesday’s class.

Thursday:

We will be continuing our island project. We will start to draw the symbols on our island.
