EE Assistant Bio

Hi! My name is Morgan, and I am thrilled to be joining the Westgate Community School team as the new Environmental Education Assistant!

Ever since I was little, I have loved spending time outdoors. I spent most of my childhood in Houston hunting for bugs in my backyard and searching for new natural spaces to explore. I later moved to Colorado to attend the University of Colorado Boulder, where I earned my bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies. During my time at CU, my passion for environmental education truly blossomed. I interned with Lincoln Hills, a local environmental nonprofit, where I helped develop curriculum and assist with conference presentations. Most recently, I completed my second summer at Wild Bear Nature Center as a Summer Nature Educator, leading outdoor adventures and learning experiences for campers ages 6 and 7. I am excited to help students discover the wonder of the natural world and build meaningful connections with the environment.

When I'm not at Westgate, you can find me baking, hiking with my cat, or trying out a new crafty hobby. I can't wait to meet all of our students and families and make this a fun year of learning and exploring together!
