Staff Profile

My name is Alexa Kinslow and I am the K-6 School Counselor of Westgate Community School. I am ecstatic to have the opportunity to serve as a resource and support for the students, families, and community members of Westgate. Aside from being a school counselor, I am a lover of nature, animals, travel, food, and art. I also enjoy going to a variety of live events including sports events, music events, and community festivals.

I have been working with school-aged children since before graduating with my bachelor’s degree in 2015. I have worked as a Truancy Advocate, Paraprofessional, and Service Coordinator before I decided to pursue my master’s degree in school counseling. Additionally, I am currently pursuing my License in Professional Counseling (LPC) and am being supervised remotely by Laura Brassie, MA, LPC, ACS. I am passionate about social emotional learning at any age and utilize a strengths-based approach in order to allow space for my students and families to flourish. I consider myself a lifelong learner and am eager to learn and grow from and with the Westgate community. My main goal is to foster an open and supportive environment for my students, families, and fellow educators. I hope you will stop by and say hi!
