Staff Profile

I am excited to partner with you and your child for this academic school year! I strive to create an inclusive environment for all students, and I am committed to adapting my teaching style, as necessary, to accommodate the varied learning styles of all of my students. I moved to Colorado from Iowa with my husband, last year. When I’m not in the classroom you can find me drinking coffee, hiking, shopping, or crafting.

Last Week of School! 5/23/22

Hello Families,
I can hardly believe this is the last week of the school year. I know we are all excited to kick off summer, but there are a few important events happening this week. Please click the link below and complete the Whole Child Survey With Your Student at home. https://forms.office.com/r/7tZjXkxw1B

On the Horizon:

Monday, May 23rd Grammy award-nominated SaulPaul will share his music and laughter with our students.
Tuesday, May 24th our high school students graduate and reflect on all their hard work.
Wednesday, May 25th, we will hold our Kindergarten Continuation Ceremony
  • The ceremony will be held at 8:30 AM in the Westgate Gym.
  • All parents and siblings are invited to attend the ceremony.
Thursday, May 26th, we will have an early release at 11:30 AM in preparation for our Open House/Spring Carnival.
  • Later in the afternoon will be our Open House/Spring Carnival, held from 1:30 PM – 5:30 PM.
  • Students and families are invited to come into the school, and see their child's current classroom, and possible classes for next year. This is a perfect time for Kindergarten families to check out the 1-2 Pod and consider the transition into our next school year.
  • Students are excited to walk families through their aquarium and show you their accomplishments this year.
  • This is not a time for conferences with your child's teachers. Instead, it is an opportunity for your child to share all the exciting things they have learned.
Friday, May 27th will be our last day of school
  • Yearbooks will be handed out for our school-wide yearbook signing.
  • Dismissal will be at 11:30 AM
  • Have and amazing Summer!

Care Packages for Deployed Airman

Hello Families,

This year during Kindness Week, we are extending our Kindness Activities and our lessons about Empathy all the way to United States Military currently deployed in the Middle East. We are asking for donations to send to about 300 Airmen as a way to share our gratitude and spread a little joy. Please consider sending any of the following items to school with your students:
body wash
head lights or book lights
mio energy drops
beef jerky
protein bars
sunflower seeds
ground coffee.
Please be sure to label them as "Military" so they are not confused with teacher appreciation donations. Feel free to write a letter of appreciation from your family, also! We appreciate YOU!

Gift Wrapping Fundraiser

Westgate Juniors and Seniors are hosting a Gift Wrapping Fundraiser! If you need your holiday gifts wrapped and want to help a great cause then stop by Westgate from 2:30pm-4:30pm Friday, December 3rd or Friday, December 10th to have your gifts wrapped by our high schoolers. All proceeds will be going towards their service trips in the Spring. Seniors are going to Thailand this May and every dollar counts. You can sign up using this link - https://www.signupgenius.com/go/30e0d4faba62baaf94-gift. We will also accept walk-ups but you may have to wait. All gift wrap, bags, bows, and ribbon have been previously used, but in good condition and have been donated by Westgate staff. We are doing our best to make gift wrapping as environmentally friendly as possible! Email Mrs. Valenza at [email protected] with any questions.
