K-8
  • MobyMax is individualized, dynamic and aligned to State Standards.  
  • Students can advance through skills and standards as quickly as they are ready while re-mediating for those who may need extra practice in some skill areas.

High School

  • Teachers will communicate about teaching and learning through their class pages.  
  • Check the class pages often (daily!).  
  • Direct instruction will take place over Zoom conferencing.  
  • All assignments and due dates will be listed on the class pages beginning Monday, April 6.

 

Specials

  • Specials Teachers will be posting lessons on their websites during Distance Learning.
  • Students will follow the same rotation through Specials

 

How long should my child be working each day?
The word is flexible! Please do what works best for your family at the times that work best for your families.

Here are some basic guidelines:
K-2
Literacy – 15-20 Minutes daily building towards 30 minutes daily
Math - 15-20 Minutes daily building towards 30 minutes daily
Science/Social Studies – 15-20 Minutes

 

3-4

Literacy – 20-45 Minutes daily building towards 50 minutes daily
Math - 20-45 Minutes daily building towards 50 minutes daily
Science/Social Studies – 15-20 Minutes

 

5-8

Literacy – 30-45 Minutes daily building towards 60 minutes daily
Math - 30-45 Minutes daily building towards 60 minutes daily
Science/Social Studies – 20-30 Minutes daily each subject

 

HS

Follow the guidelines of your professor.  Westgate will not and cannot  make changes to their expectations.

 


FOR ALL STUDENTS

Movement Breaks, Exercise and Play!  
  • Take time for this.
  • Schedule in Breaks. Stretch.
  • Play. Run. Walk. Jump. 
  • Your brains and bodies will thank you!
 
READ and WRITE each day!
  • Reading and writing are cornerstones to all academic growth. 
  • We suggest 30 minutes a day for each. 
  • For little kids, you can break the time up into 10-15 minute chunks throughout the day. 
 
Grading K-8 
Teachers will provide weekly feedback to their Advocacy students via email to the student (5-8) and guardians.
 
Grading High School
Grades will be posted in Infinite Campus
