20x PRESENTATIONS AT CONFERENCES (PLEASE READ CAREFULLY)

Dear Parents,

By now you should all have been informed about your child’s 20 Time Project in their Language Arts class. This is the culminating project for 7th and 8th grade students at Westgate. It will not only show what the students learned, and accomplished during their 20-time project, but will also be a reflection of their time in the 7/8 pod. For some students this is their time to move on from Westgate for others it is the beginning or continuing of their journey here. We want parents/mentors to be as informed as possible during this project so we would like you to be aware that the culmination of this project is a 20 time talk in front of a panel.

This talk will occur during student led conferences and will be in place of the traditional student led conferences. After students present, they may join their parents in the pod to share any other projects/ accomplishments/ work they have done this quarter. ALL students/parents/guardians are expected to sign up for a spot at student led conferences when the sign up is sent out. This reserves a 10-minute slot for students to set up and present their 20-time project. If you cannot attend, please email your child’s English teacher right away to set up another time to present. The signup genius will have enough spots for everyone but it’s on a first come first serve basis. We are asking students to invite mentors to come to this talk as well. We can only have 1 sign up per room. Please sign up with your child’s English teacher.

Thank you for your consideration and for joining us in recognizing each child’s hard work throughout this year and this quarter. We will be sending out the sign up genius for student-led conferences shortly. If you have any questions, feel free to email your child’s English Language Arts teacher.

Sincerely,

7/8 Teachers
