I am 1-2 teacher here at Westgate and the 1-2 Team Lead. This will be my 15th year at this amazing school!  I previously taught at Stargate Charter School in Thornton.  I received my Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education with my post-graduate hours in early literacy. The mission and vision of this amazing school are what keep me coming back year after year and being amongst a team of educators that put both the social-emotional and educational needs of each student first is such a blessing! 
 
In my personal life, my husband and I have four amazing kids that we love spending time traveling with and just hanging out!

Westgate Scholastic Book Fair is Next Week!

Westgate Scholastic Bookfair
The Bookfair will be back at Westgate from January 24th-28th. Our class will be previewing the bookfair on Monday, January 28th and will be shopping on FILL IN DAY HERE. If your student would like to shop at the fair, please send money with that on FILL IN DAY HERE. This will be our class's only opportunity to shop at the fair during the school day. Payment can be made via cash (exact change or rounding up for Books for All is appreciated), check (made out to Westgate), credit card or e-wallet (https://bookfairs.scholastic.com/bookfairs/parent-how-it-works.html?fairID=5144706).
 
Families wishing to shop with their students may sign up for a shopping time at the link below. Shopping after school is by appointment only and signups are first come, first served.
 
The virtual fair will be open from January 24th to February 6th. Please note-Scholastic is experiencing shipping times of 6 to 8 weeks for online orders.

Solar Eclipse on Monday

 

Hi Families! 

I wanted to let you know that we will NOT be going outside to view the solar eclipse on Monday. Due to safety concerns we have decided to keep all K-2 classes inside and will view it live from NASA. Please reach out to me if you have any questions about this. 

Spring Conferences

Westgate Community School
Spring Conferences:
Sign-ups will open THIS Friday, February 24th at 4pm for Spring conferences (the link will be posted here!). Conferences will be held on March 23rd and 24th from 8am-8pm. Please remember that you need to sign up with EACH teacher you want to meet with (literacy, math, science and social studies) during ONE 15 minute time slot. Teachers will all meet with you together during that time slot. If you sign up for multiple 15 minute slots, some of them will be cancelled and it may be too late to get in with all of the teachers you wanted to meet with. If you have any questions about who your child has for a subject, please contact me before Friday! You can also set up a separate conference with the specials teachers if you would like to.
